Dr. Sam Johansen
Optometrist
Doctor Samuel Johansen’s passion is to provide thorough eye exams with customized options for the needs of each patient. He puts the care of the patient first, which is why you will find many specialized services at Precision Eyecare that you will not find anywhere else. Dr. Johansen was born and raised in the small town of Ninety-Six South Carolina. He comes from a large family with 12 children and loves getting together with them! Dr. Johansen Graduated from Ninety-Six High School and then spent 2 years on a mission serving the people of Venezuela during which he became fluent in Spanish. He then went on to earn his bachelors in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2011. In 2015 he earned his degree in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He then returned home to practice Optometry and currently has practices in Berea, Greenwood, and Newberry. When he is not helping people to see better, Dr Johansen loves spending time with his wife Renata and their 3 children on family outings, going to the beach, or playing sports like soccer, wrestling, softball, or gymnastics. Ben Brown
Lens Specialist
Benjamin Brown will help you to pick out a stylish pair of glasses that fits your lifestyle needs and ensure that they fit just right! From the moment you meet him you will be struck with how warm and friendly he is. Ben has remarked that to him each customer is family, and his passion for helping each customer shows! Ben was born in the Midwest and is a middle child with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. He has been studying eye care and helping customers get the perfect fit with their glasses since he started working for Doctor Johansen in 2017. Ben just completed schooling and is certified at the National Academy of Optometry. Ben and his wonderful wife, Nicole, have two boys. Ben loves God and his family and enjoys playing sports, especially basketball, and lifting weights. Joseph Dabel
Appointment Specialist
Joseph Dabel will be the first person to greet you at the front desk or on the phone! He is fluent in Spanish and English and is eagerly waiting to help you get an appointment scheduled with Dr. Johansen! Joseph was born in Ogden, UT, but moved to Greenwood, SC when he was 8. He graduated from Greenwood High School and then later from Lander University with a Bachelors in Spanish in 2006. Joseph enjoys people, history, study of cultures, and linguistics, particularly Spanish as his mother was born and raised in Temuco, Chile and his father was a university Professor of Spanish. Joseph has spent time in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and also in Chile during his travels, but settled down to live in Greenville with his wife, Amanda, in 2006. He currently has two children, Jarom and Abigail. He has a broad range of interests including: movies, electronics, computers, software, gaming, art (drawing and painting), comics, superheroes, and music. He also thoroughly enjoys the outdoors including camping, hiking, hunting, and fresh water fishing. Joseph believes it is important to put God and family first in his life. He learned at age 15 he needed corrective vision. He was surprised to find out that not everyone had blurry vision when looking at a distance. Getting corrective vision changed his life.
